In Act II there is an in-depth perspective on how these Puritan people operate. In Act I we learn of their vague accusations and beliefs without any real reasoning. In this Act we learn that they accuse people to be witches based on coincidental happenings. Now this technically means they still don't have actual reasoning but it still provides detail on their decision...On another note, their seems to be so much mistrust between these church centered people. They work on living a good life inspired by God yet they carry on accusation and underhanded deeds that aren't ideal. I think this happens because they strive to make their society perfect that they will do whatever it takes to get rid of the flaws such as accused witches. Hales seem to be the only one that is "stepping out-side the box" of the Puritan lifestyle.
